IF NOT NOW

WHAT WE KNOW

Every transition holds the possibility of loss, but also of mystery and discovery.

Maturity confronts us with complicated problems.  For many of us, these questions become especially real when we think about home.  That same maturity gives us the ability to weigh our options, make thoughtful choices, and live with discovery and wonder.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO

The questions we face about our future feel difficult.

That's not because they are so complicated, but because they are so entwined.  When everything feels tangled it helps to know which thread to pull first.  As we work through a tangle methodically, we begin to see which threads need to remain flexible, and which need to be held tight and still.  Then patterns emerge.

HOW WE WILL LIVE

Understanding has a way of blooming when we see patterns in our life.  As the pieces begin to connect, something about the future can become clearer.  With that recognition it's easier to make today's choices, and to live wholeheartedly now.  That's what If Not Now makes possible.

WHY I WROTE

I needed the structure of my own professional process to guide me through my own decisions about the future.  What began as a support project for myself has become a systematic workbook called If Not Now.

If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And If not now, when?
